Hi, my name is Anne Hellersmith and I am a Dutch-American designer. Born in San Francisco, I moved to Groningen, The Netherlands with my parents when I was four years old. The Netherlands is where I grew up, and will always be the place I consider home, but besides being of two cultures, my parents also instilled me with a love of travel.
From a young age I have traveled with my parents, and it is to these adventures that I owemy desire to not only travel, but also live abroad. I got my undergraduate degree in Graphic Communication at the University of Northampton in England and, after this, moving to San Francisco for my Master’s seemed like the logical next step.
I’ve learned a lot since moving here. I’ve grown as a person and a designer. And though I’ll probably always think of myself as Dutch, my experiences in England and San Francisco have made me realize I’m always going to jump at new opportunities no matter what country they take me to.
Hi, my name is Anne Hellersmith and I am an experienced Dutch-American designer. I'm currently working as a senior designer at Contrast DesignWorks in Los Altos, CA. My positions before this include working as s senior designer at Benali, a small marketing firm based out of Oklahoma, working remotely, and as a designer at John McNeil Studio in Berkeley. I've had the opportunity to work on a fun, diverse range of projects, to mentor and supervise an intern and to work with talented creative freelancers. Take a look at my recent projects to get a sense of the variety of clients I’ve worked with and the types of projects I’ve completed.
I completed my MFA in Graphic Design at The Academy of Art University in 2017. Before that, I attended the University of Northampton in Northampton, England, where I graduated in 2014 with a BAHons in Graphic Communication. I spent the bulk of my childhood, however, in the Netherlands, and will likely always refer to the Netherlands as "home".
